I’ve been taking Sol with me as much as possible, though he’s a nervous rider; cowering before and during the ride, until we turn onto the road that leads home, and once he see the canopy of trees overhead, he perks up, the relief evident once in the driveway. Today was different; he hesitated only for a moment then without aide or coaxing, got in the van by himself, a few minutes later his big head pops up in the rearview mirror, where he’s climbed up on the backseat. He stayed there for the duration of our ride, sitting tall, gazing out the window, and I swear he had a smile on his face. It’s all about love it’s all about trust and giving a rescue pet a second chance at life.
