THERE IS A PATH

There is a path
Challenging and complex
That if we allow ourselves to follow
Will lead us to our dreams

Insecurity and confusion
Questions of capability
Searching for purpose
Create our hesitation

Though eager we may be
To discover what destiny awaits us
We stand at the crossroads
Instead of moving forward joyously

The universe holds our plans
Eclipsing our greatest dreams
Aware of our quests
And best formulated plans

Ever watching over us
All we must do is believe
The universe will provide
Guiding our journey of ambition

Ready to care
Always for our needs
But this attention so loving
Is not mere chance or circumstance

Nothing happens without purpose
Everything happens for a reason
Yet ego is the destroyer
Possessing its own perception

Preventing profound lessons
Labeled mistakes creating conflict
Hindering growth and progress
Of our personal evolution

At the first sign of faith
The universe will propel us
Forward toward our goals
In its unstoppable current

We only need believe
We only need trust
We only need faith
And Thy Will
Shall be done

SHADOWS IN GLASS

Not quite world renowned, yet still slightly famous
His artistry revered among an extended circle of faithfuls
All clamoring for entrance to behold the coveted treasures
The beauty of his creations surpassed only by his vision

Sometimes a window, sometimes a mirror
Making one question their own perceptions
Forcing them to look within rather than simply at
Taking them beyond levels of personal comfort

And there at the center she lingered unknown
The one he delighted in whilst feeding her soul
Yearning to accept him in his world absolute
Define the separation between artisan and masterpiece

She peered through the window and saw her own soul
Finding the mirror that no longer revealed
That which she believed she still longed to see
Deceived by trepidation of past wounds and demons
Distracted by the notion of his possible comparison

PAST THE POINT

Past the point
Of no return
She frantically searched
The looking glass

Seeing visions and images
That weren’t really there
A multitude of words
Being backwards truths

Wondering always
If anyone knew
Or even cared
How she really felt

She dropped the looking glass
Shattering to the ground
Catching sight of Alice
The chase was on

Decidedly she followed
Into the last rabbit hole
Meeting up at last
Midnight long since passed

She took a deep breath
Gathering courage to ask

Alice paused
Head hung regretfully
Heart filled with absolute sorrow

Then answered honestly
I just don’t know…

Worth retrieving

She watches the water
Flow lazily by her window
Gently being pulled
By the slow moving current

Offering further proof
In the power of connections
Something she once put
Total faith in

Reduced to a place
Where she no longer believes
Still searching for her own truth
Once given so freely

A journey she must make
In order to retrieve it
Tangled in that web
Of lies and deceit
