I stepped outside and as if an invisible shield had been erected around my world, I was met with the sound of deafening silence. The stillness took me aback and I reveled in the moments calm. No people, no cars, no movement of any kind, until a breeze broke way and the leaves began whispering their secrets high above my head. Two crows split the sun, delightfully cawing upon taking flight. It was a magical moment to be sure, everything just as it should be; me mingled with nature standing in stillness, delighted by the nothingness, reassured by the absoluteness, of this our beautiful world. j.a.terry 3.14.2020
