Having lingered over the course
Of a day’s entirety
Overflowing their hearts
Into the twilight hours
It was too much to hope
The euphoria would sustain
Souls separated in slumber
To touch a newborn day
But a note awaited her sleepy return
Left at dawns early hour
Filled with love and promises of forever
Upon her feathered pillow
His kiss so soft still felt upon her cheek
His gentle whisper heard in her ear
As the brush of his hand
Across silver streaked raven strands
She sat alone in an empty bed
Holding his words close to her heart
Closed her burning tear-filled eyes
Choking on a sob as she called out his name
My love
My light
My need
My want
My one
My only
Pulse of my heart…

Beautiful, touching, moving, amazing.
This is the Wordsmith at her most Extraordinary… the tone and subject matter she does best.
Thank you for sharing your words, your thoughts, and your heart.
My hat’s off to the Gentleman, as well.
That’s a lucky boy…
Just simple reflections of romantic notions
Lingering dreams never fulfilled
And if, by chance, there were such a boy
Is she would be the lucky one…
Thank you for your words.
Encouraging and most flattering.
