This disregard
For human life
Is nothing new
To our species
It overwhelms
As it shadows
Our light
In media’s
Many
Forms
Everywhere
We turn
Daily news
So bad
Good news
So seldom heard
This human
Condition
The darkened
Soul
Can dampen
The brightest
Of spirits
But only
If we
Allow it
