Author Bio

Her first memorable experience with the written word was a set of books, in which Jill was the main character of the stories. To see herself, alive on those pages, shifted her perception, sparked her imagination, and set her on a path she has yet to veer from.

She started writing stories at a very young age, placing herself and her friends in fantastical situations that transported them from the real world, to those they often dreamed of. It was not only a means of self-expression, but one of control as well. Once she discovered this form of creative release, she never stopped creating and releasing; Bleeding & Purging, as she’s come to call it over the years.

Her theory, based on experience, is that stories and poems stem from pure emotion; life sparks emotion, in all forms, sometimes to the point of torment and beyond; once combined with creativity, imagination and a powerful need to release, it is then that a true piece of craftsmanship is borne.

Writing for public consumption was not a decision lightly made; and there are times, still, that she questions that decision; until she receives word from someone halfway across the world that she doesn’t know; thanking or praising her, for touching them on a personal level, making them stop and think, looking long and hard at themselves in the mirror, or simply for making them pause and smile.

An interviewer once asked Jill why she chose to become a writer; “Writing isn’t something that I chose to do, it’s who I am, what I’ve always done, and is as essential to me as breathing. We all have our own ways of dealing with life’s demons and blessings that we receive and experience on a daily basis, and this just happens to be my key to survival. I write life, as seen through my eyes; and if I’m able to touch others along the way, then I feel I’m a better person for it, and there just might be a bigger purpose for the gift I’ve been given. It’s all about perception; and I’m a firm believer that Shift Happens!”
